Our History

Cañiu Pez was born in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, driven by the hard work and perseverance of its founder, Abel Cañiu. With over 30 years of experience in the fishing industry, Abel forged his path working in processing plants and sailing on freezer and fresh fish trawlers.

This deep knowledge of the entire production chain, from capture to commercialization, fueled the dream of a personal project, which took definitive shape in 2017.

Growth and Excellence

Today, Cañiu Pez is a family company specializing in the processing of wild Patagonian shrimp. With a team of 120 people working at the plant during the season and a processing capacity of 20,000 kg per day, the company has managed to consolidate a solid and highly efficient structure.

Under the direct supervision of their owners, they combine artisanal knowledge with the highest quality standards. They have more than 45 international destinations authorized by SENASA, consolidating their structure to make the definitive leap towards direct export.
